We are family owned and operated, we offer a mobile appliance test and tag service will come to you whenever and wherever you need electrical appliances, tools or leads tested.
Port Test and Tag (formerly Port Appliance Test & Tag) has been testing and tagging office appliances, laboratory equipment, food service manufacture, factory machinery and tradie’s power tools since May 2009.
Our technicians are trained to the advanced level, which includes 3 phase appliances along with lifeguards both single phase and 3PH including RCDs. As well as scissorlift training certificates for getting to the hard to reach stuff when required.
On completion of testing, we provide the reports to complete your Health & Safety System. Others may look and tag, we test and tag, our reports provide auditable evidence that testing to and beyond the standards listed in the Electrical (Safety) Regulations has taken place.
We can perform minor repairs (lead/plug replacement to enable an item to be passed on the day)
We hold ten million dollars of Public Liability Insurance and two million dollars of Professional Indemnity Insurance. All our test equipment has an annual calibration check. We hold SiteWise Green status and have been SiteSafe Members since 2009.
Meet the team:
Sasha previously worked in IT for many years. After coming back to NZ he worked in factory construction. Then moved into test and tag which led us to taking over from Steve and Sandie. He has a daughter at primary school.
Alannah has 25+ years of office management experience in civil construction, and building industries where she also handled health and safety compliance. After 6 months working part time in both it was time to join Sasha “on the tools” full time in July 2020. She also handles the bookings and accounts.
Shay (Alannah’s daughter) was new to the industry completing her training while “very” pregnant with her daughter Alizah, and is on call when we need the extra pair of hands.
Port Test and Tag Ltd conduct appliance testing in all parts of Christchurch, North Canterbury and the wider Canterbury area including Kaikoura.
